The Institute was formed in 1967. It is a national organisation of suppliers, manufacturers and users of packaging materials, equipments and services. Its objectives are to promote packaging as a science and profession, to undertake research and development in packaging design, to establish basic standards for packaging industry, exchange of international experts and knowledge and to provide testing and consultancy services to members.

Staff:
Has two full time and one part time staff members.

Membership:
About 120 corporate members.

Training Services:
Conducts seminars and training programmes on various topics of interest to industry, such as adhesives, flexible packaging, labels etc.

Information Services:
Publishes News Pack as its official publication which is sent to members, government agencies and other interested parties.

Financing:
Members’ subscriptions, fees.
